This summer has been great–and challenging–as I’ve begun working with the editor at Elk Lake Publishing on the manuscript for book one of my trilogy–The Lost Stones of Argonia, “Kingdom Lost.” Other excitement involves attending my first Realm Makers conference in St. Louis, along with 300+ fellow faith-inspired speculative fiction writers, and beginning to work with a graphic designer to create cool images to advertise the upcoming books.

We don’t have an official cover design yet, but this image will get the idea of a “real” book percolating. For me, anyway! The book is coming, for sure (we THINK in October!); it’s the cover we’re waiting on. I can’t wait to show y’all the other images–they’re awesome!

In addition to all this, I’m looking for–have you guessed?–Super fans! Who are they, you may ask. So glad you did! I’m going to need people to help me get the word out–the last I heard, 5000 books a DAY are uploaded onto Amazon! The obvious importance of this fact is that it’s incredibly easy for a book–no matter how good–to simply disappear into the cyber-stacks of that illustrious institution, where only family and your most loyal pals will ever find it. I don’t want this to happen. I really want people to read my book and they can’t if they don’t know it exists. IOW, I’m looking for a street team, a launch team. People who can create their own graphics (or use some of ours) and post them on Instagram/FB/Pinterest/wherever. Folks all over the country who can request that their own library purchase copies. People who will buy copies and post reviews on Amazon, GoodReads, and wherever else people read book reviews. I’m also looking for people who have their own ideas of cool things to do to get the word out.

Since you here are already my super-fans (thank you!) I thought I’d start with you. Just give it some thought, will you? And if you have anyone in your life that really loves doing this kind of thing, please let me know. I’m putting all the info together now to pass on to this group, but I can promise that we’ll do some fun things (probably online), there will be some great giveaways, and you’ll have my undying gratitude! And you’ll be helping get these books into the hands of young girls who will not only enjoy them but will be encouraged to live heroic lives of their own.

And one final caveat–if this is not your thing, absolutely do not feel obligated to volunteer for anything! I had to start somewhere. 🙂 But if you think you would like to help, let me know and we’ll go from there. You can help as much or as little as you want–I’ll still love you! Thanks, all!
